University of Notre Dame Children’s Choir Series
The University of Notre Dame Children’s Choir Series features music performed and recorded by the University of Notre Dame Children’s Choir. The series spotlights liturgical music (masses, Evensongs, Vespers, anthems, carols, and motets) for use by young choristers in worship and sacred concert repertoire appropriate for school and community performances. The Notre Dame Children’s Choir Series highlights the foundational role child singers play in the creation of new and historical sacred music. The Series Editor is Dr. Mark Doerries, Artistic Director of the Notre Dame Children’s Choir.
The University of Notre Dame Children’s Choir is an ecumenical choral program for children from toddlers through high school. The Choir educates over 300 choristers weekly, regularly commissions and records new liturgical, classical, jazz, and spiritual music, tours nationally, and has performed for the National Association of Pastoral Musicians, TEDx, and the Indiana Music Education Association. The Choir’s debut album, O Emmanuel, opened at the number one position on Billboard’s Chart of Traditional Classical Music in 2016.
