CCLI

All ECSPG publishers are members of Christian Copyright Licensing International. CCLI provides various licensing options to help churches with congregational worship. The most popular license is the Church Copyright License, which provides reprint permissions for overheads, songsheets, songbooks, bulletins, etc. CCLI provides this license for a yearly fee and requires churches to report their copying record. For more information about all types of CCLI licenses, please visit www.ccli.com.

Distance Learning – Auditions and Adjudicator Copies

ECSPG wishes to continue supporting educators as they adapt auditions, competitions, and exams to the tools of distanced learning. During the continuing limitations on in-person gatherings due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, ECSPG grants gratis permission for the following uses related to Auditions, Competitions, and Exams:
  • Permission is granted to create and share digital copies of the score to share with judges for use in an audition or competition, provided the organization owns one copy of the choral score or music for each member of the ensemble, or one copy of the complete set of music for instrumental works. Scores distributed digitally must be deleted after the audition or competition, and any printouts must be destroyed after the audition or competition.
  • Permission is granted to create and submit a performance video for an audition, competition, or exam. The video may only be shared privately with the organization or individuals judging the audition, competition, or exam. The video may not be posted online for public viewing or on demand streaming. Additional use of the video (such as posting publicly to YouTube or a school’s website for repeated on-demand viewing) requires additional permissions from ECS Publishing. All videos submitted for auditions, competitions, or exams must be deleted from the sharing platform or by the recipient(s) after use, unless the recipient requests and receives permission for further use.

Licenses

If you will be using any ECSPG copyrighted materials, please select your request and fill out the form. We have listed our most common licenses below. If these do not fit your needs, you may email us to explain the nature of your request.

Mechanical License Requests (recordings)

ECSPG publishers are represented by the Harry Fox Agency, which issues mechanical licenses and collects fees for many music publishers. You may choose to request a license directly from us or through Harry Fox. A mechanical license is required prior to reproducing recordings of any ECSPG copyrighted material onto CDs or digital downloads. If you plan to record music from our catalog, please fill out the online request form and submit to us.

OneLicense.Net

All ECSPG publishers are members of One License, which was designed to reduce the need for churches to continually contact publishers for reprint, streaming, and event licenses. For one annual fee, One License provides church musicians with yearly or single-use licenses to reprint or stream works of its member publishers. One License also provides online reporting which allows churches to easily inform publishers of the titles they have licensed. For more information, please visit www.onelicense.net.

Performance License

ECSPG publishers belong to ASCAP and BMI. They will administer performance licenses on our behalf. You may also email us with your request.

Permissions License Requests (reprints)

Permission must be requested prior to reprinting ECSPG copyrighted material in a bulletin, program, worship folder, or individual song sheet. ECSPG can only give permission for those texts and tunes copyrighted by our subsidiary publishers. There is a flat fee based on frequency of use: One-Time Use ($10), Seasonal/Yearly Use ($25), and Lifetime Use ($40). You may use the online form to request permission from ECSPG directly, or you may use one of the following affiliated licensing companies (for church or church-related use only): One License or CCLI.

Photocopy License

ECSPG does not typically grant permission to photocopy. In rare situations, however, we will grant photocopy licenses which will precisely indicate a certain number of copies for a specific work. The license will also require that a unique copyright notice is placed on all copies, showing that permission was received from ECSPG.

If you feel that you need a photocopy license, please email our permissions department with the following information:
  • Title of publication
  • Catalog Number
  • Name of Composer and/or Author
  • Details of specific use and purpose for photocopies

Reproducible Congregation Parts

Many of our choral octavos contain reproducible parts for congregation. We offer a downloadable PDF file for many of these parts on OneLicense.net and from our website. The complimentary downloads are available from the product page in the bottom "Additional Information" area. For more information, please email us or call customer service at 1-800-647-2117.

Synchronization License (visual recordings)

A synchronization license is necessary if you plan to use ECSPG copyrighted material in conjunction with visual images, such as television, movies, videos, DVDs, and live streaming. If you plan to use music from our catalog, please fill out the online request form and submit to us.
