A delightful, contrapuntal romp on the tune RICHMOND/CHESTERFIELD. The string parts work well played by soloists and will need quite good players to make the piece really sparkle. The C-instrument part works best with oboe, but the other suggested instruments will work nearly as well if played rather boldly. Unison treble voices (or even a good soloist) might also double or substitute for the C-instrument part. Great for an Advent or Christmas program or concert. Two Violins, Cello, and Treble Wind Instrument (and/or opt. Unison Treble Voices).
