This gentle, expansive hymn tune is a fitting vehicle for the text inspired by Genesis 15:5, which cites God's promise to Abraham that his descendants will be as countless as the stars. Written for the Papal Mass in Philadelphia on September 27, 2015, it can be performed simply with organ and oboe, or with organ and chamber orchestra; congregation joins in on the final two stanzas.
